Our Mission
Rock of Hope is a church working to improve the lives of people in our community through prayer, fellowship, worship, and the Word. Giving God all the glory he deserves. Rock of Hope is a place of truth, with power that is real, and people who care.
What We Believe
We are a Bible-based church. We’re Bible-based in that we seek to base all of our beliefs and our lifestyle on explicit passages of the Bible or on biblical principles. Based on Scripture, we believe the following:
Fundamental Doctrine
Our basic doctrine is the New Birth message of Christ: “Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God” (John 3:5). We believe the Apostles taught Christ’s New Birth message: repentance, baptism in water by immersion in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the the Holy Spirit baptism (Acts 2:38-39). We encourage believers to “…grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ…” (II Peter 3:18).
About the Bible
The Bible is the infallible Word of God and the authority for salvation and Christian living. (See II Timothy 3:15-17.)
About God
We believe in the one eternal God of the Bible, Who revealed Himself as our Father in creation, in Jesus Christ as Savior, and as the Holy Spirit within believers. “And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory” (I Timothy 3:16). “Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you” (John 14:17).
About Sin and Salvation
Everyone has sinned and needs salvation. Salvation comes by grace through faith based on the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ (See Romans 3:23-25; 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9).
About the Gospel
The saving gospel is the good news that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose again, thus making provision for all of us to experience the New Birth message taught by Christ and experienced by His followers.
